DECONTAMINATE AND MITIGATE
CHEMICAL WARFARE AGENTS
TOXIC INDUSTRIAL CHEMICALS
Directions for Use
Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Decontamination
- Prepare three-part solution according to Mixing Instructions on Decon Force-100 container.
- Adorn Level C personal protective equipment (PPE) that is OSHA, NIOSH, and EPA-approved, including a Tyvek suit or similar hooded coverall, a full-face respirator with a P-100 broad-spectrum chemical filter, and chemical-resistant gloves and booties.
- Enter contaminated site and turn off HVAC unit(s), if applicable.
- Close all access points (e.g., windows, doors, etc.) to minimize air flow.
- Remove all HVAC vents and intake covers, if applicable. Remove and safely dispose of HVAC filter(s).
- Use a HEPA vacuum or vacuum with a HEPA filter and vacuum inside of all vent openings.
- Apply Decon Force-100 mixed solution via mechanical spray device, ULV sprayer, or foaming device to all surfaces with suspected contamination until ALL surfaces are visibly wet. This includes walls, floors, ceilings, fixtures (e.g., light fixtures, fans, window treatments, etc.), and cabinet interiors and exteriors. Surfaces should be wet but not saturated or with visible runoff.
- Using a fogging device, fog Decon Force-100 into the HVAC vents and HVAC intake.
- Exit area and allow applied solution to sit for 1 hour or until solution has settled, if fogged or sprayed.
- Reenter area in full PPE and repeat application with the solution as described in Steps 7 and 8.
- If HVAC is present, turn on HVAC fan on, and fog or spray solution into filter opening. Allow HVAC fan to run for 20 seconds before turning fan off.
- If applicable, pour two ounces of solution into each drain (sink, tub, shower, floor drain) to neutralize any residue that may remain in the drain’s P-trap.
- Exit treated area for a minimum of 8 hours.
- For severely contaminated areas, a third application may be required.
- After dwell time on final application has elapsed, ventilate the treated area. Post-treatment testing is highly recommended.
